Buying supplies for culinary school = muy expensivo! Plus side, I'm a cooker and had a whole slew of things in my kitchen already so it saved me a lot of time and money. Bad side, most people that think they have great knives have just "ok" knives. The big daddys are VERY expensive and to be a chef with fingers you mush have good knives. So I'm bidding for mine on ebay. One man's old knives are another women's new knives!
Also, the more classes I take, the more books and kitchen supplies I have to buy. So for my birthday, I need gift certificates to cooking supply stores, ie Ace Mart and my favorite kitchen supply locale, Sur La Table = French for "VERY expensive store!"
Here's a tip, I've found some great deals at the thrift store. Like quiche pans, stewing pots, and bowls. If your into an eclectic kitchen, this is the way to go. I paid .65 cents for a $30.00 quiche pan and $1.50 for a $75.00 silver tray. There's a treasure trove of goodies that again, are one man's trash and your treasure waiting to be found. Oh and the random Prada shoes I found for $6.00 were a bonus!
